Schuler's Sponsors July 11, Fly-In During its 2004
95th Anniversary Celebration A July 11, 2004 Fly-In at Brooks Field in Marshall, sponsored by Schuler's Restaurant and Pub and Marshall Aviation Center featured a "North American Top Gun" air combat exercise that attracted student pilots, professional and corporate flyers from all over the Midwest, according to Kurt MacLane, airport manager. Brooks Field played host to hundreds of single engine aircraft on July 11 as part of Schuler's Restaurant's Fly-In. To complement the aerobatics in the sky, Schuler's Restaurant served pilots on the ground with Sunday Brunch and a shuttle service for the one-mile ride from the airport to the restaurant from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Joining the pilots who fly the Top Gun planes, were volunteers from the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and members of the Allegan and Kalamazoo Pilots Association, who gave free airplane rides to the "Young Eagles" Boy Scout troops that include students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This two-seater Waco was displayed at Brooks Air Field in Marshall, MI. There were antique aircraft flown in by members of the Antique Aircraft Club of Michigan, and aircraft from all over the Midwest competed for prizes given by Schuler's and Marshall Aviation Center. Flying to Marshall, MI from Cleveland OH, Roger Levering is welcomed to the Brooks Field by Dawn Masternak and Kurt MacLane of the Marshall Aviation Center. The Fly-In capped off the 95 days of celebration for Schuler's 95 years of being in business in Marshall, Michigan.
