"Signature Event" Held on Mother's Day 2004

Mother's Day at Schuler's has become an annual event for over 1,800 people who dine at the restaurant in honor of their mother or grandmother on their special day.

Schuler's planned a "signature event" in 2004 for its just published cookbook, Fresh Recipes & Warm Memories. Authors Hans and Jonathan Schuler did the honors, along with Keith Kehlbeck who wrote the history portion of the cookbook. They were available during an autographing session outside, in front of the restaurant, from 11:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.

Schuler's Fresh Recipes & Warm Memories, has been available since late March at the restaurant and through many local outlets, and the web site www.SchulersRestaurant.com.

Sales of the cookbook have been brisk according to Sue Damron, Schuler's vice president and general manager. "Interest in the recipes and the history has come from near and far. The letters we've received are especially touching as long-time guests of the restaurant and former staff, reminisce about the experiences they have had at the restaurant and how being here has touched their lives," she said.

"We often hear about the wedding proposals taking place in our dining room, but an especially impressive one was cited by the author of a full page spread in the Ann Arbor News. She wrote about the new cookbook, and raved about the recipes and the restaurant history and even revealed that her handsome husband of 15 years, had launched their marriage over a March dinner here in 1988," Damron enthused.

"Guests were advised to come a bit earlier than the time of their reservation to have their cookbook personalized by the authors, and not miss being called for their table when it is available," Damron cautioned. Reservations for Mother's Day Brunch are a must, with so many families looking to mark this day.
