SCHULER'S NAMES FAMILY'S
FOURTH GENERATION RESTAURATEUR AS PRESIDENT

Chairman, Hans Schuler, announces the appointment of his son, Larry Schuler, to the position of president of the nearly century-old company.

Larry Schuler is not a new face in Marshall, nor is he a stranger to Schuler's Restaurant in the heart of the city. Larry, representing four generations in the restaurant industry, began his career there before entering high school in the seventies and was general manager of the Marshall restaurant in the nineties.

Today, his father, Hans Schuler, is pleased to announce that he and Larry will be actively involved as a team in the day-to-day operations of Schuler's in Marshall. Larry will continue to reside in St. Joseph where he is also president of the sixteen year old Schu's Grill & Bar in downtown St. Joseph which overlooks Lake Michigan.

"We have been working on the details of our new business arrangement for some time now, and I enthusiastically welcome the talents and experience Larry brings to the continued success of Schuler's," commented Hans Schuler.

Larry is the great grandson of Albert Schuler, who first opened the restaurant in 1909 and grandson of Win Schuler, who is still a household name. Schuler believes that four generations of restaurateurs is not so coincidentally linked to the attention they give to the changing desires of each new generation.

He observed, "Our team is constantly focused on what 'dining out' means to today's patron. We believe this next step will strengthen the unique brands for the next generation. There is exhilaration in once again being involved in the flagship restaurant."

With his new responsibilities, Larry said he has exemplary management teams in place at both Schuler's of Marshall and Schu's Grill & Bar in St. Joseph. Sue Damron, vice president and general manager in Marshall, will continue to be in charge of the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
