A July 11,
Fly-In at Brooks Field in Marshall, sponsored by Schuler's Restaurant
and Pub and Marshall Aviation Center featured a "North American Top Gun"
air combat exercise that attracted student pilots, professional and corporate
flyers from all over the Midwest, according to Kurt MacLane, airport manager.

11 as part of Schuler's Restaurant's Fly-In. |
To
complement the aerobatics in the sky, Schuler's Restaurant served pilots
on the ground with Sunday Brunch and a shuttle service for the one-mile
ride from the airport to the restaurant from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Joining
the pilots who fly the Top Gun planes, were volunteers from the Kalamazoo
Air Zoo and members of the Allegan and Kalamazoo Pilots Association,
who gave free airplane rides to the "Young Eagles" Boy Scout troops
that include students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

There were
antique aircraft flown in by members of the Antique Aircraft Club of Michigan,
and aircraft from all over the Midwest competed for prizes given by Schuler's
and Marshall Aviation Center.

The Fly-In capped off the 95 days of celebration for Schuler's 95 years
of being in business in Marshall, Michigan. Other events that Schuler's
has sponsored during this 95 days include publication of its cookbook
Fresh Recipes & Warm Memories that was highlighted by
two book signings on Easter and Mother's Day at the Restaurant. Recipes
from the cookbook have been featured as specials each week, along with
95-cent specials in the Pub and dining room.
An Etiquette
Day with Marshall 7th grade students, a wine dinner, the Tax Bash on
April 15, and a Celebrity Bartender evening, have topped off the 95
days of tribute to this icon of Midwest fine dining.
