Larry Schuler

Larry Schuler, a fourth generation member of the Schuler Restaurant family,
followed the long-standing tradition of ‘working’ at the restaurant since childhood
and joined the Marshall, MI organization in 1986. Larry now operates the popular
Schu’s Grill and Bar in St. Joseph, Michigan.

A graduate of Marshall High School, Larry received a bachelor’s degree in
economics from Albion College. Larry was a member and officer of the Delta
Tau Delta fraternity.

Encouraged by his grandfather, Win Schuler, and father, Hans, Larry pursued a
broad, well-rounded work experience in the field of hospitality management
before returning to the family business. In 1982, Larry joined the Robert Mondavi
Winery in Napa, California where he learned wine making through the entire
viticulture and wine making process during the vintage season.

Larry was then employed as part of the start-up team for the-then new Westin
Hotel Galleria, serving as restaurant manager in three theme restaurants, and
then serving as Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for this 440-room luxury
hotel with F&B sales of $8M per year.

Larry returned to Michigan in 1986 and served as Vice President and General
Manager of Schuler’s in Marshall, MI and operator of Schu’s Grill and Bar in St.
Joseph. MI. In 1994, Larry moved full time to St. Joseph, MI.

Larry is a former Chairman of the Michigan Restaurant Association and
Pacesetter United Way. He is a winner of “Michigan’s Make a Difference” Citizen
Award. Larry served as a trustee of the Berrien Community Foundation. Larry
remains an active and passionate fundraiser for the American Cancer Society
after losing his wife, Molly, to a ten-year battle with cancer.

Larry Schuler has three children, Jenna, Kaitlin and Robby and is married to
Christa whose children are Paige and Taylor Dickerson.
